Correlation Analysis of Peripheral Inflammatory Cytokine Levels and Unstable Angina Pectoris |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the correlation between serum levels of human chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 40 (YKL-40), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-17 (IL-17), interleukin-23(IL-23),interleukin-1β(IL-1β), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and unstable angina pectoris (UAP). 【Methods】Eighty-seven UAP patients (UAP group), 60 stable angina pectoris (SAP) patients (SAP group), and 52 healthy controls with normal coronary angiography results during the same period were enrolled from January 2022 to January 2024. Serum levels of YKL-40, hs-CRP, IL-17, IL-23, IL-1β, and TNF-α were compared across groups. The predictive efficacy of these cytokines for UAP was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. 【Results】Serum levels of YKL-40, hs-CRP, IL-17, IL-23, IL-1β, and TNF-α were significantly higher in the UAP group than in the SAP group and control group (P<0.05), and significantly higher in the SAP group than in the control group (P<0.05). All cytokines showed certain predictive efficacy for UAP (P<0.05), with areas under the curve (AUC) of 0.903, 0.891, 0.773, 0.801, 0.756, and 0.736, respectively.【Conclusion】 YKL-40, hs-CRP, IL-17, IL-23, IL-1β, and TNF-α may be involved in the progression of UAP and could serve as serum markers for UAP prediction.
