Effect of Sanqi Tongshu Capsule Combined with rt-PA Intravenous Thrombolysis on IGF-1 and MMP-9 Levels in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke

Abstract  【Objective】 To explore the effect of Sanqi Tongshu capsule combined with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) intravenous thrombolysis on the levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). 【Methods】 A total of 240 patients with AIS admitted to our hospital were randomly divided into two groups,with 120 cases in each group. The control group was treated with rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis,while the observation group was treated with Sanqi Tongshu capsule combined with rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis. The treatment in the two groups lasted for 4 weeks. The curative effect,adverse reactions and the levels of Barthel index (BI),neurological function score (NIHSS),balance function score (BBS),TCM symptom score,IGF-1,MMP-9,calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. 【Results】 After treatment,the serum NIHSS of patients in the observation group was significantly lower than that before treatment in the observation group and after treatment in the control group,and the scores of BBS and BI were significantly higher than those before treatment of the observation group and after treatment in of the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 95.00%,which was significantly higher than 87.50% in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment,the scores of hemiplegia,mouth and eye deviation,and speech impairment in the observation group were lower than those before treatment in the observation group and after treatment in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum MMP-9 and CGRP of the observation group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the observation group before treatment and of the control group after treatment,while the level of IGF-1 was significantly higher than that of the observation group before treatment and of the control group after treatment(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Sanqi Tongshu capsule combined with rt-PA intravenous thrombolytic therapy for AIS can increase the clinical efficacy,regulate the serum levels of MMP-9,IGF-1 and CGRP,improve the recovery of nerve function,enhance the ability of daily living and balance,while not increase adverse drug reactions.
