Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the correlation of urinary phthalate metabolites (PM) with premature ovarian failure (POF) and reproductive hormones in women. 【Methods】A total of 81 patients with POF in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the study group, according to the ratio of 1:2 principle, 162 healthy women in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of estrogen (E2) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) were detected. The levels of MiBP (mono-iso-butyl phthalate), MnBP (mono-n-butyl phthalate), MBzP (mono-benzyl phthalate), MEHP (mono(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate), MEHHP (mono(2-ethyl-5-hydroyhexyl) phthalate) and MEOHP (mono(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate) were measured as well. The relationship of PM with POF, E2 and FSH was analyzed. 【Results】The level of E2 in the study group was lower than that in the control group and its FSH level was higher than that in the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). MiBP level of the study group was higher than that of the control group and the MEHP level was lower than that of control group. The differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the levels of MnBP, MBzP, MEOHP, and MEHHP between the two groups (P>0.05). MiBP was positively correlated with POF (P<0.05). MiBP, MnBP were negatively correlated with E2 (P<0.05), and FSH was positively correlated with MiBP, MnBP, MEOHP, and MEHHP (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】The concentration of MiBP in urine is correlated with the occurrence of POF, and a number of PM are correlated with female hormone levels. PM-related chemicals have a risk on female reproductive health.
