Abstract 【Objective】To compare the efficacy of B-ultrasound-guided hydrostatic enema and X-ray air enema reduction in the treatment of acute intussusception in children. 【Methods】Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 116 children with acute intussusception admitted to our hospital for enema reduction from February 2017 to February 2018 were studied. According to different enema reductions, patients were divided into the observation group and the control group, with 58 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional X-ray air enema, while the observation group was treated with water pressure enema under B-ultrasound monitoring. The reduction rate of intussusception, recurrence rate and complication rate of the two groups were compared. 【Results】The serum C-reactive protein (CRP) level and recovery time of intestinal function in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, while the reduction time of intussusception in the observation group was longer than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The recurrence rate and incidence of complications in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the reduction rate of intussusception between the two groups (P>0.05). The reduction rate of patients who suffered intussusception more than 48 hours in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (88.9% vs 72.2%, P<0.05). 【Conclusion】B-ultrasonic hydrostatic enema can be used for early diagnosis of pediatric acute intussusception. It has an obvious reduction effect for intussusception, at the same time, to avoid radiation damage to human body caused by X-ray. It is an effective adjuvant therapy and non-invasive detection method which can reduce the incidence of complications. Therefore it is worthy of clinical application.
