Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the effect of rocuronium on the repair of cleft lip and palate and the incidence of residual muscle relaxation in bilateral upper lip modified trapezoidal mucosal myocutaneous flaps.【Methods】Eighty children with cleft lip and palate were selected from January 2015 to January 2019. They were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bilateral upper lip modified trapezoidal mucosal myocutaneous flaps, while the observation group was treated with rocuronium on the basis of the control group. The treatment effect, onset time, convulsion recovery time, recovery index and parents'satisfaction were compared between the two groups.【Results】There was no significant difference in the therapeutic effect between the two groups (P>0.05); the onset time of anesthesia, convulsion recovery time and recovery index in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group; the satisfaction degree of parents was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).【Conclusion】The application of rocuronium bromide in bilateral upper lip modified trapezoidal mucosal myocutaneous flaps is effective in repairing cleft lip and palate in children. The incidence of residual muscle relaxation after operation is low and parents'satisfaction is high.
