Effect of Shenfu Injection on Heart, Live and Kidney Function of Patients with Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the protective effect of Shenfu injection on the heart, live and kidney function of patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. 【Methods】A total of 50 patients with MODS after resuscitation were randomly divided into two group with 25 cases each. The basic treatment was consistent between the two groups. Simultaneous administration of Shenfu injection was applied in patients of the observation group. Levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), creatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase Isoenzyme (CK-MB), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), blood creatinine (SCr), pH value, arterial blood oxygen partial pressure (PaO2), arterial blood carbon dioxide partial pressure (PaCO2), oxygenation index (OI) and mortality before and after treatment were compared in the two groups. 【Results】There were no significant differences in all detected parameters between the two groups of patients before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, ALT, CK, CK-MB and LDH in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, the differences in pH, PaO2, PaCO2 and OI levels between two groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05). However, after treatment, the PaCO2 level of the observation group was lower and the pH value, PaO2 and OI levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The patient survival rate of the observation group was 56.00% (14/25), which was higher than that of the control group (28.00%, 7/25). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Shenfu injection for the treatment of patients with MODS after resuscitation has certain protective effects on heart, liver and kidney function. It reduces inflammatory reactive damage and improves blood gas index of patients.
