| Effect of Auricular Scraping with Copper Bian-Stone Combined with Auricular Point Pressing on Blood Pressure, Sleep Quality and Quality of Life in Elderly Patients with Hypertension |

Abstract 【Objective】 To explore the effect of auricular scraping with copper bian-stone combined with auricular point pressing on blood pressure, sleep quality and quality of life in elderly patients with hypertension. 【Methods】 A total of 130 elderly patients with hypertension admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to April 2025 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 65 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine antihypertensive drugs, while the observation group was given the intervention of auricular scraping with copper bian-stone combined with auricular point pressing on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, blood pressure levels, sleep quality [Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) scores] and quality of life [36-Item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36) scores] of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. 【Results】 After treatment, the systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 92.31%(60/65), which was higher than 64.62%(42/65) of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(χ2=14.748, P<0.05). After treatment, the PSQI scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of all dimensions of SF-36 in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and the scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).【Conclusion】 Auricular scraping with copper bian-stone combined with auricular point pressing has a good auxiliary effect on lowering blood pressure in elderly patients with hypertension, can improve their sleep quality and enhance their quality of life.
