| The Efficacy of Letrozole Combined with Urinary Gonadotropin in the Treatment of Infertility Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and its Impact on IL-6, CRP, and TNF-α Levels |

Abstract 【Objective】 To explore the therapeutic effect of letrozole combined with urotropin in the treatment of infertility patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and its effects on interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α).【Methods】 A total of 94 infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome treated at the Ankang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2019 to January 2021 were collected. They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 47 cases in each group, using a random number table method. The control group received treatment with letrozole, while the observation group received combined treatment with urotropin on the basis of the control group. We compared the ovulation and pregnancy status of two groups, as well as the levels of endometrial receptivity [endometrial thickness, resistance index (RI), pulsatility index (PI)], inflammatory factors (IL-6, CRP, TNF-α), sex hormones [estradiol (E2), testosterone (T), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH)] before and after treatment. 【Results】 Compared with the control group, the observation group had a higher ovulation rate and pregnancy rate (P<0.05); After treatment, the thickness of the endometrium in both groups increased, and the thickness of the endometrium in the observation group was greater than that in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in RI and PI levels between the two groups (P>0.05); After treatment, the serum levels of IL-6, CRP, and TNF-α decreased in both groups, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the levels of E2, FSH, and LH in both groups increased, while the levels of T decreased. The levels of E2, FSH, and LH in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the levels of T were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).【Conclusion】 The combination of letrozole and urotropin can improve the levels of sex hormones and endometrial receptivity in infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, alleviate chronic inflammation, increase ovulation and pregnancy rates, and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
