Abstract 【Objective】 To explore the effects of oxycodone and sufentanil on analgesia after cesarean section. 【Methods】 A total of 160 pregnant women who underwent cesarean delivery in our Department of Obstetrics were randomly divided into two groups (the oxycodone group and the sufentanil group),with 80 cases in each. Patients in the two groups received intravenous different drug-controlled analgesia after operation. Pain degree scores (VAS) at different time points and under uterine contraction after surgery, postoperative pump compression intravenous analgesia (PCIA), serum prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), serotonin (5-HT) and the occurrence of adverse reactions were recorded and compared between the two groups. 【Results】 There were no significant differences in VAS scores between the oxycodone group and the sufentanil group at 2 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h, and 48 h after surgery (P>0.05). Total compression times of the intravenous analgesia pump at 24 h, 48 h after surgery in the oxycodone group were not significant differences from those in the sufentanil groups (P>0.05). Before surgery, there were no statistical differences in levels of serum PGE2 and 5-HT between the two groups (P>0.05); However, the serum PGE2 and 5-HT levels of the two groups 24 hours after delivery were higher than their corresponding preoperative group (P<0.05). The incidence of maternal adverse reactions in the oxycodone group was 7.50%. It was lower than that of the sufentanil group 18.75% (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 The effect of oxycodone and sufentanil for analgesia after cesarean section is not much different, but the former has a lower adverse reaction rate.
