Abstract：【Objective】To investigate the clinical efficacy of calcium hydroxide paste combined with minocycline in the treatment of patients with periapical periodontitis. 【Methods】 A total of 210 patients with chronic periapical periodontitis diagnosed in our hospital were selected and divided into a combined group(treated with calcium hydroxide paste combined with minocycline),a calcium hydroxide group(treated with calcium hydroxide paste),and a minocycline group(treated with minocycline),with 70 cases in each group.The clinical efficacy and the clinical symptom scores before and after treatment,as well as the inflammatory factors [tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6)] in gingival crevicular fluid were compared among the three groups. 【Results】 Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the symptom scores of gingival redness,pain,and tenderness among the combined group,calcium hydroxide group,and minocycline group(P>0.05). After treatment,the symptom scores of gingival redness,pain,and tenderness in all three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the combined group had lower scores than the calcium hydroxide group and the minocycline group(P<0.05). Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 in gingival crevicular fluid among the combined group,calcium hydroxide group,and minocycline group(P>0.05). After treatment,the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 in gingival crevicular fluid in all three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the combined group had lower levels than the calcium hydroxide group and the minocycline group(P<0.05). The clinical efficacy among the three groups was compared,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the combined group had better clinical efficacy than the calcium hydroxide group and the minocycline group.【Conclusion】Combined treatment with calcium hydroxide paste and minocycline can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients with chronic periapical periodontitis,reduce the inflammatory response,and improve the clinical efficacy.
