Abstract：【Objective】To observe the efficacy of Jisheng Shenqi formula combined with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction in treating primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and its effects on renal function and lipid metabolism in patients. 【Methods】104 patients with PNS were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 52 patients in each group. The control group received Western medicine treatment, while the observation group received Jisheng Shenqi formula combined with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction on top of the treatment given to the control group. The clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores, 24 hour urinary protein quantification (24hUPQ), renal function [serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), endogenous creatinine clearance rate (Ccr)], and lipid levels [total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)] were compared between the two groups, as well as adverse reactions. 【Results】The overall efficacy in the observation group was higher than in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores in both groups decreased, and the scores in the observation group were lower than in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, 24hUPQ, Scr, and BUN levels in both groups decreased, and Ccr increased, with the observation group showing better improvements than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, TC, TG, and LDL-C levels in both groups decreased, while HDL-C levels increased, with the observation group showing better improvements than the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Jisheng Shenqi formula combined with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction has a good therapeutic effect on PNS, can significantly reduce traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores, and improve renal function and blood lipid metabolism levels in patients.
