Abstract:【Objective】To observe the effects of different doses of nabuphine on urinary catheter-related bladder stimulation(CRBD) in adult males.【Methods】A total of 90 cases of adult male patients in general surgery undergoing elective surgery were selected and randomly divided into the control group (group C with saline,n=30), nabuphine group A ( 0.1 mg/kg) and nabuphine group B ( 0.2mg/kg). Intravenous infusion of saline or naborphine was administrated 5 min before catheter placement. The severity of CRBD and the pain visual analogue scale (VAS score) were recorded 1 min after urethral catheter implantation. The incidence of CRBD and adverse reactions such as sedation, hyperhidrosis, nausea and vomiting within 30 minutes after catheter placement were compared among the three groups.【Results】Compared to group C, CRBD degree and VAS scores of group A and group B 1 min after catheter placement were lower (P<0.05). Furthermore, those of group B were even lower than those of group A(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of polyperspiration, nausea or vomiting among the three groups (P>0.05). The incidence of CRBD in group A and group B was lower than that in group C, and the sedation rate was higher than that in group C (P<0.05). The incidence of CRBD in group B was lower than that in group A, and the sedation rate was higher than that in group A.【Conclusion】 Nalbuphine dose at 0.2mg /kg can be effectively used to prevent adult male CRBD.
