Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupoint application combined with auricular point pressing in the treatment of preschool children with allergic rhinitis (AR). 【Methods】 A total of 90 preschool children with AR treated in our hospital from May 2022 to May 2025 were selected and divided into the acupoint application group, auricular point pressing group and combined group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. All children received basic treatment and routine nursing. On this basis, the acupoint application group was treated with TCM acupoint application, the auricular point pressing group was treated with auricular point pressing therapy, and the combined group received combined treatment of TCM acupoint application and auricular point pressing. The TCM symptom scores, clinical efficacy, emergency western medicine use score and quality of life score were compared among the three groups before and after intervention. 【Results】 After 6 months of intervention, the TCM symptom scores of the three groups were lower than those before intervention, and the combined group had significantly lower scores than the other two groups (P<0.05). The total clinical effective rate of the combined group was 96.67%, which was higher than 73.33% of the acupoint application group and 60.00% of the auricular point pressing group (P<0.05). After intervention, the emergency western medicine use score of the combined group was lower than that of the other two groups (P<0.05). Additionally, each dimension score and total score of quality of life in the combined group were significantly lower than those in the acupoint application group and auricular point pressing group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 For preschool children with AR, TCM acupoint application combined with auricular point pressing can improve TCM symptoms, increase the total clinical effective rate, reduce the dosage of emergency western medicine, and optimize children's quality of life, which has good clinical application value.
