Abstract:【Objective】To explore the therapeutic effect of Dicang through Jiache acupuncture therapy on patients with peripheral facial paralysis and deviation of the mouth.【Methods】Sixty patients with peripheral facial paralysis and mouth deviation treated in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups, with 30 patients in each. The observation group received Dicang through Jiache acupuncture, while the control group received conventional acupuncture. The therapeutic effects, Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome scores, and quality of life(SF-36) scores were compared between the groups before and after treatment. 【Results】The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.33%(28/30), which was significantly higher than the 73.33%(22/30) in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05). There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of TCM syndrome scores and SF-36 scores before treatment(P>0.05). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in both groups were lower than before treatment(P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the SF-36 scores in both groups were higher than before treatment(P<0.05), and the scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Dicang through Jiache acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis is more effective than conventional acupuncture. It can promote rapid symptom disappearance, effectively improve the condition, and enhance the quality of life of patients.
