| Effect of Qufeng Juanyin Decoction on Pulmonary Function and Inflammatory Factors in Children with Bronchial Asthma |

Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the effects of Qufeng Juanyin Decoction on pulmonary function and inflammatory factors in children with bronchial asthma. 【Methods】 A total of 120 children diagnosed with bronchial asthma from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group (with 60 cases in each group) using a random number table method. The control group received treatment with fluticasone propionate inhaler combined with oral pediatric lung cough granules, while the observation group received the same regimen plus Qufeng Juanyin Decoction. Clinical efficacy, symptom resolution time, overall adverse reaction rate, and changes in pulmonary function indicators (peak expiratory flow, PEF; forced expiratory volume in one second, FEV1; FEV1/forced vital capacity, FVC), as well as levels of inflammatory factors [eosinophils(EOS); interleukin-6(IL-6); interleukin-17(IL-17); interleukin-22(IL-22)] before and after treatment, were compared between the two groups. 【Results】 The overall control rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the observation group showed shorter durations for symptom resolution including cough, dyspnea, and wheezing compared to the control group (P<0.05). Additionally, PEF, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC values in the observation group were higher (P<0.05), while EOS, IL-6, IL-17, and IL-22 levels in the observation group were lower (P<0.05)than those in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Adding Qufeng Juanyin Decoction in addition to conventional therapy significantly improves clinical outcomes in children with bronchial asthma, effectively alleviates symptoms such as shortness of breath and coughing, enhances pulmonary function, reduces inflammation, and demonstrates high safety, making it worthy of clinical application and promotion.
