| Clinical Efficacy of Guizhi Fuling Pills Combined with Compound Gossypol Acetate Tablets in the Treatment of Patients with Endometriosis |

Abstract 【Objective】 To explore the clinical efficacy of Guizhi Fuling Pills combined with compound gossypol acetate tablets in patients with endometriosis (EMT). 【Methods】 The clinical data of 109 patients with EMT admitted to The Eighth People's Hospital of Shanghai from March 2021 to October 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into the observation group (n=55) and the control group (n=54) according to different therapeutic regimens. The control group was treated with compound gossypol acetate tablets alone, while the observation group received Guizhi Fuling Pills on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 months. TCM syndrome scores, clinical efficacy, ovarian function indicators [estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH)], inflammation-related indicators [interleukin-1β (IL-1β), high mobility group box protein B1 (HMGB1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF)], fetal liver kinase-1 (Flk-1), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. 【Results】 After treatment, the total TCM syndrome score, primary syndrome score and secondary syndrome score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The serum levels of E2, FSH and LH in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The serum levels of IL-1β, HMGB1, MMP-9, MIF, Flk-1 and VEGF in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusions】 The combined regimen of Guizhi Fuling Pills and compound gossypol acetate tablets has definite therapeutic effects on EMT patients. It can improve ovarian and vascular endothelial function, alleviate inflammatory response, reduce the levels of Flk-1 and MMP-9, with favorable safety.
