Abstract 【Objective】To explore the effect of Compex electromyostimulation and kinesiology taping on early postoperative pain and swelling after arthroscopic shoulder surgery.【Methods】A total of 82 patients with early postoperative pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery, recruited from Hunan Provincial People's Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University) from November 2022 to December 2024, were divided into three groups using the random number table method: the conventional rehabilitation group (Group N, n=27), the kinesiology taping group (Group K, n=27), and the Compex electromyostimulation group (Group C, n=28). The patients' pain status, limb swelling relief, insomnia, and rehabilitation satisfaction were evaluated before surgery and at multiple time points after surgery.【Results】At 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after the first treatment, the effective rate of swelling reduction in Group K was higher than that in Group C and Group N, and that in Group C was higher than that in Group N, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). On the first night after surgery, the Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS-8) scores of Group K and Group N were significantly higher than those before surgery, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). On the second and third nights after surgery, the AIS-8 scores of Group C were significantly lower than those of Group K and Group N, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). On the 1st and 2nd days after surgery, the rehabilitation satisfaction of Group K and Group N was significantly lower than that before surgery, while the rehabilitation satisfaction of Group C was significantly higher than that of Group K and Group N, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The analgesic effect of Group C was significantly better than that of Group K and Group N (P<0.05), and there was no statistically significant difference between Group K and Group N (P>0.05).【Conclusion】Compex electromyostimulation can effectively relieve early postoperative pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery and significantly improve patients' sleep quality; kinesiology taping has a significant advantage in reducing swelling. Both can be used as targeted intervention measures for postoperative rehabilitation after arthroscopic shoulder surgery.
