Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the risk factors of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). 【Methods】A total of 163 patients with type 2 diabetes diagnosed and treated in our hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected and divided into the control group (without DPN, n=88) and the observation group (with DPN, n=75) according to whether the patients were combined with DPN. Clinical data were collected. The correlation between the Michigan Peripheral Neuropathy Screening List (MNSI) score and clinical features of the patients was analyzed, and the risk factors of DPN were analyzed by Logistic regression. 【Results】The results of single factor analysis showed that diabetic retinopathy (DR), glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), the proportion of high blood sugar time above range (TAR) and low blood sugar time below range (TBR) within 24 h, homocysteine (Hcy), and disease course were compared between the two groups, The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The results of linear regression analysis showed that TAR, disease duration and DR were positively correlated with MNSI score (P<0.05), while eGFR was negatively correlated with MNSI score (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that eGFR, Hcy and DR were positively correlated with DPN (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】The occurrence and development of DPN are related to blood glucose level, microcirculation and neurodystrophy. Comprehensive management of risk factors is important for the prevention and treatment of DPN.
