Abstract  【Objective】To explore the effects of outdoor aerobic exercise combined with aripiprazole on lipid metabolism and event related potential (P300) in elderly obese patients with schizophrenia (SCH). 【Methods】A total of 114 elderly obese SCH patients admitted to our hospital from July 2019 to July 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 57 cases in each group. The control group was treated with aripiprazole, while the observation group received outdoor aerobic exercise treatment in addition to the control group. We compared the clinical efficacy, BPRS scores, SSPI scores, P300(latency, amplitude), lipid metabolism indicators [triglycerides (TG), glutamic acid (GLU), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C)], and incidence of adverse reactions between two groups. 【Results】The clinical effective rate of the observation group was 94.74%, which was higher than the control group's 80.70%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the BPRS scores of both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P<0.05); The SSPI scores of the two groups were higher than before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the P300 latency in both groups was lower than before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the amplitude of P300 waves in both groups was higher than before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of GLU, TG, and LDL-C in both groups were higher than before treatment, and the increase in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the HDL-C levels in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the decrease in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 The combination of aripiprazole and outdoor aerobic exercise has a significant effect on the treatment of elderly obese SCH, which can improve clinical symptoms, promote social function reconstruction, regulate lipid metabolism, and is worthy of clinical reference.
