| Effects of Lipid-Regulating Decoction Combined with Prednisone on Glycolipid Metabolism Levels in Patients with Nephrotic Syndrome |

Abstract 【Objective】This study aimed to investigate the effects of lipid-regulating decoction combined with prednisone on the glycolipid metabolism levels in patients with nephrotic syndrome (NS). 【Methods】A total of 98 patients with NS treated in our hospital were divided into an observation group and a control group by random number table method, with 49 patients in each group. The control group was treated with prednisone, while the observation group was treated with lipid-regulating decoction combined with prednisone. The clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores before and after treatment, levels of glycolipid metabolism, kidney function indicators, and the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. 【Results】The total effective rate in the observation group was 91.84% (45/49), significantly higher than 77.55% (38/49) in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of facial and limb edema, fatigue, and anorexia of the observation group were all lower than those before treatment of the observation group and after treatment of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of fasting blood glucose (FPG), triglycerides (TG), and total cholesterol (TC) in the observation group were significantly lower than those before treatment in the observation group and after treatment in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and 24-hour urinary protein quantification in the observation group were lower than those before treatment and after treatment in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】The treatment of NS patients with lipid-regulating decoction combined with prednisone can significantly reduce the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores, improve clinical efficacy, and significantly improve glycolipid metabolism levels and kidney function indicators with minimal adverse reactions.
