Abstract  【Objective】To explore the serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), serum macrophage migration in-hibitory factor (MIF), epidermal growth factor (EGF) and their relationship with cognitive function in peripheral blood of schizophrenia. 【Methods】 The clinical data of 54 schizophrenic patients treated in our hospital from January 2017 to January 2019 (observation group) and 58 healthy volunteers in the same period (control group) were selected. The levels of serum BDNF, MIF and EGF in the two groups were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The clinical symptoms were evaluated by positive and negative symptom scale (PANSS), and the cognitive function was evaluated by cognitive function package consensus Version (MCCB). At the same time, the relationship between the levels of BDNF, MIF and EGF in peripheral blood of schizophrenia and cognitive function was analyzed by Pearson linear correlation. 【Results】The levels of serum BDNF in the control group were significantly higher than those in the observation group, and the levels of serum MIF and EGF were lower than those in the observation group (P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between PAS and NSF (r=286.05,P<0.05). The score of connection test in the control group was lower than that in the observation group, and the symbol coding, visual memory, verbal memory and semantic fluency were higher than those in the observation group (P<0.05). In the observation group, serum MIF level was positively correlated with visual spatial memory (r=0.485,P<0.05), and EGF level was positively correlated with visual spatial memory (r=0.331,P<0.05).【Conclusion】The levels of serum MIF and EGF are closely related to the clinical manifestations and some cognitive impairment of schizophrenic patients, and they are also related to the level of BDNF.
