Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the diagnostic value of different MRI sequences in closed Achilles tendon tears.【Methods】From January 2016 to January 2019, 150 patients with suspected closed rupture of Achilles tendon were selected. All patients were examined with MRI in our hospital. According to the different MRI sequences, the diagnostic value of T2WI+T1WI+ SPAIR、T2WI+ T1WI+STIR in closed Achilles tendon tears was analyzed and compared. 【Results】Of the 150 patients, 96 were diagnosed as closed Achilles tendon tear. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of T1WI+T2WI +STI were 91.67%, 66.67%, 82.67%, 83.02% and 81.82% respectively; the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of T1WI+T2WI +STIR were 95.83%, 85.19%, 92.00%, 92.00% and 92.00% respectively. There was no significant difference in sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value between T1WI+T2WI +STIR and T1WI+T2WI +SPAIR (P>0.05); the accuracy of T1WI+T2WI +SPAIR was 92.00%, significantly higher than 81.82% of T1WI+T2WI+STIR (P<0.05).【Conclusion】MRI has a good application value in the diagnosis of closed Achilles tendon tears, among which T1WI+T2WI +SPAIR sequence has a higher accuracy in the diagnosis of Achilles tendon tears, which is worthy of clinical reference.
