Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the relationship between the symptoms of emotional retardation and mismatch negativity (MMN) in event-related potential (ERP) in schizophrenia.【Methods】 Fifteen schizophrenic patients with and without affective retardation symptoms and 15 healthy subjects were selected as the subjects without medication or withdrawal for more than four weeks. The ERP data of all subjects under the auditory oddball paradigm were recorded, and the differences of MMN latency and amplitude among the three groups were compared. 【Results】 (1) MMN amplitude: in frontal region, the amplitude of MMN in the non affective group was lower than that in the healthy control group, while the MMN amplitude in the frontal region in the emotional retardation group was lower than that in the former two groups. In central area, left side and right side, only the MMN amplitude of patients with affective retardation was lower than that of healthy control group; in the middle, MMN amplitude of patients with and without affective retardation was lower than that of healthy control group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups. (2) There was no significant difference in MMN latency among the three groups.【Conclusions】 This study found that the process of pre attention processing is impaired in schizophrenic patients, and the degree of impairment is more serious in patients with emotional retardation.
