| Study on Analgesic Effect of Dexmedetomidine in Patients with Rotator Cuff Repair |

Abstract 【Objective】To explore the analgesic effect of dexmedetomidine(Dex)in patients with rotator cuff repair surgery.【Methods】A total of 41 cases of shoulder arthroscopic rotator cuff repair in our hospital were selected. According to the random number table method, the patients were randomly divided into the observation group (21 cases) and the control group (20 cases). All patients were given intravenous general anesthesia. While the observation group also received Dex and the control group received an equal amount of physiological saline. The general data, sedation and analgesia scores at 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours after operation were compared between the two groups. The incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was compared as well【Results】The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 2h, 4h and 8h after operation (P<0.05). The sedation Ramsay scores at 2h and 4h after surgery were higher than those of the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The overall incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 23.81% (5/21),which was no statistical significance (P>0.05) compared to 20% (4/20) in the control group.【Conclusion】Dexmedetomidine can effectively prolong the first postoperative analgesia time in patients with rotator cuff repair surgery and reduce the pain of patients.
