Correlation between Survivin Acetylation and PCAF Expression in Esophageal Carcinoma and its Clinical Significance

Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the relationship between the acetylation level of Survivin protein and the expression of P300/CBP-related factor (PCAF) and its clinicopathological features in esophageal cancer. 【Methods】The acetylation of Survivin protein in 90 cases of esophageal carcinoma and adjacent normal esophageal epithelial tissues was detected by immunoprecipitation and Western blot. The expression of PCAF in esophageal carcinoma was detected by immunohistochemical staining, and the relationship between Survivin protein acetylation and clinicopathological features and the expression of PCAF protein was analyzed.【Results】The acetylation rate of Survivin protein in esophageal cancer tissues was (72.67±1.25)%, significantly higher than that in normal esophageal tissues adjacent to cancer (11.18±2.16)% (P<0.05). The acetylation level of Survivin protein in esophageal cancer tissues was closely related to TNM stage, tissue differentiation and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). The positive expression of Survivin was 28.89%, which was significantly lower than 92.22% in normal esophageal tissues (P<0.05). There was no correlation between the acetylation level of Survivin protein and PCAF level in esophageal cancer tissues (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Survivin protein acetylated in esophageal cancer tissue, and the occurrence and development of esophageal cancer may be closely related to the degree of acetylation of Survivin protein; Survivin protein acetylation and acetyltransferase PCAF have no correlation.
