A Follow-up Study of Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty for Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction Complicated with Severe Hydronephrosis |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the efficacy and long-term effects of laparoscopic ureteropelvic angioplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction with severe hydronephrosis. 【Methods】A total of 80 patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) complicated with severe hydronephrosis were enrolled in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2017. According to different surgical methods, patients were divided into the observation group (laparoscopic application) and the control group (traditional open surgery), with 40 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with laparoscopic ureteral ureteral dissection and the control group was treated with open ureteral ureteral dissection. The intraoperative blood loss, operation time, perirenal drainage, days of drainage tube, hospitalization days, hospitalization costs, and surgical complications were observed. Symptom relief of obstruction and recurrence of hydronephrosis were followed up for 2~24 months. 【Results】 The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, perirenal drainage volume, extubation days and postoperative hospitalization in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). However, the hospitalization expenses of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group; the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The postoperative complication rates of the observation group was 7.5% (3/40) , which seemed lower than 10% (4/40), while the difference was not statistically significant (χ2=0.157,P=0.692>0.05). The study was followed up for 2~24 months. Patients with waist and abdominal pain in both groups before surgery were relieved or disappeared after surgery. All patients had no recurrence of obstruction. The conditions of renal pelvis and ureteral drainage, hydronephrosis, and kidney function were significantly improved. 【Conclusion】Laparoscopic ureteral ureteral dissection is effective in the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction with severe hydronephrosis. The long-term results are satisfactory and can be promoted.
