| Influence of Empathy Nursing Combined with Relaxation Training on Anxiety, Depression, and Sleep Quality of COPD Patients |

Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the effect of empathy nursing in combination with relaxation training on anxiety-depression mood and sleep quality of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 【Methods】A total of 114 cases of COPD patients hospitalized from July 2016 to June 2017 were selected as the research subjects, and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 57 cases in each group. Patients in control group were given routine nursing, while patients in observation group were given empathy nursing in combination with relaxation training in addition to regular nursing. After 8 weeks of follow-up interventions, the anxiety-depression mood and sleep quality of patients in the two groups were evaluated by the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS) ,and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). 【Results】 The scores of SAS and SDS in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P < 0.05), and the scores of PSQI such as fall-sleep time and sleeping time were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P < 0.05, P < 0.01). 【Conclusion】Empathy nursing in combination with relaxation training can help to improve anxiety-depression mood and sleep quality of COPD patients, and enhance the physical and mental comfort level.
