| Jinwu Gutong Capsule Combined with Sodium Hyaluronate in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Osteoarthritis |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the curative effect of Jinwu Gutong Capsule combined with sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis . 【Methods】Ninety-two elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into observation group (n=46) and control group (n=46). The control group was treated with injection of sodium hyaluronate; on the basis of the control group, the observation group was treaded with Jinwu Gutong Capsule . The course of treatment was 4 weeks in two groups. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. The curative effect, the severity score before and after treatment, the knee function score, the changes of serum IL-1 and IL-6 levels, and the adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The total efficiency of the observation group 91.31%(42/46) was higher than that in the control group69.57% (32/46), the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05); The scores of severity, serum IL-1 and IL-6 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05); The knee function score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05); ECG, blood routine, urine routine, liver and kidney function of the two groups were not abnormal.【Conclusion】 Jinwu Gutong Capsule combined with sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis can improve the knee joint function of patients, reduce the cytokines IL-1 and IL-6 levels ,and it is worthy of clinical application.
