Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the clinical efficacy of sequential chemoradiotherapy and concurrent chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer.【Methods】 One hundred and sixty patients with gastric cancer after radical operation were randomly divided into two groups, the observation group was treated with adjuvant chemotherapy after the 4 cycles of intensity modulated radiation therapy, the control group was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the same time, the efficacy of the two groups were compared between the two groups.【Results】The survival rate of the observation group was 87.50%, 76.25%,53.75%(43/80) respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group (73.75%, 60%,37.50%) (P<0.05);There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications such as fever, gastrointestinal reaction, liver and kidney dysfunction in the observation group compared with the control group (P>0.05). In the observation group, the recurrence rate was 26.25% (21/80), which was significantly lower than that in the control group (40/80), and the difference was significant (P<0.05).【Conclusion】In the treatment of advanced gastric cancer, sequential radiotherapy is more effective than the concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and the recurrence rate is low, so it is worthy of popularization and application.
