Abstract 【Objective】To study the clinical treatment methods and respective treatment effects of primary esophageal small cell carcinoma, and to provide the basis for improving the cure rate. 【Methods】
According the hospital data, 84 cases of patients with primary esophageal small cell carcinoma were analyzed according to different therapeutic measures, and the patients were divided into the control group of 42 cases and the experimental group of 42 cases. The control group was treated with surgical treatment, whereas the experimental group was additionally treated with chemotherapy on the basis of surgical treatment. The treatment effects were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The total efficiency of treatment in the experimental group was 40.5%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group of 35.7% (P<0.05). The physiological condition, somatic symptoms, anxiety, depression, compulsive behavior, vitality, sleep, sexuality, hostility, working status, and interpersonal relationship scores of the patients in both groups before treatment were not significantly different (P>0.05). After the treatment, the living conditions, somatic symptoms, vitality, and working condition scores were significantly higher in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the sexuality, hostility, and interpersonal scores were not significantly different between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】The surgical combined with chemotherapy treatment of patients with primary esophageal small cell carcinoma turned out better results; it can prolong the survival time of the patients, and is worthy of popularization and application.
