Abstract 【Objective】To analyze the correlation of serum levels of homocysteine (Hcy) and interleukin6 (IL6) to cognitive dysfunction in patients with ischemic stroke. 【Methods】84 inpatients with ischemic stroke were collected and divided into two groups according to occurrence of the cognitive functions: control group (38 cases, normal cognitive function), and research group (46 cases, cognitive dysfunction). Cognitive functions of all patients were assessed according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The indexes of Hcy, IL6, blood glucose, and lipid were detected and compared between the two groups. The risk factors to the occurrence of cognitive dysfunction were confirmed by the multivariate Logistic analysis. 【Results】Compared to control group, the values of Hcy, IL6, and oxLDL of the research group were higher (P<0.05), and the values of all indexes of blood glucose and other lipid indexes showed no difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Multivariant Logistic analysis showed that the Hcy and IL6 were independent factors to the occurrence of cognitive dysfunction. 【Conclusion】Serum levels of Hcy and IL6 were independent risk factors to cognitive dysfunction in patients with ischemic stroke.
