Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the clinical efficacy of the combined application of laparoscope and uterine artery embolization in the treatment of uterine fibroids. 【Methods】120 patients with uterine fibroids were selected and divided into 3 groups based on different operation mode,40 cases for each. Group A were applicated with laparoscopic surgery, while group B with uterine artery embolization, and group C combined application of laparoscope and uterine artery embolization. Surgery time, the amount of bleeding during surgery, the hospitalization time, recovery and efficacy after surgery were observed.【Results】Relapse rates were 22.5%, 7.5% and 2.5% for A,B, and C group respectively. Compared with the other two groups, relapse rates of the combined application of laparoscope and uterine artery embolization was significantly lower (χ2=7.312, 7.433; P=0.001, 0.001). Efficiency were 77.5%, 82.5% and 95% each group. Compared with the other two groups, the efficiency of group C was significantly higher (χ2=6.831, 7.125;P=0.004, 0.002). 【Conclusion】 The effect of the combined application of laparoscope and uterine artery embolization in the treatment of uterine fibroids was better than laparoscopic surgery or uterine artery embolization individually with lower recurrence rate. It is worthy of popularization and application.
