Abstract 【Objective】To observe the effect of the special education on the metabolic indexes of the patients with prediabetes in the early stage and the compliance by intervention.【Methods】On the base of health examination and diabetic clinic for the community residents, we screened a total of 138 cases of patients of prediabetes in accordance with standards whom were randomly assigned to the observation group (70 cases) and the control group (68 cases). After the implementation of health education in the observation group, we regularly followed up for 1 years. 【Results】The metabolic parameters, the incidence of prediabetes and the intervention compliance of the two groups were compared. The intervention compliance and prediabetes incidence of the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Health education can effectively improve the compliance of patients with prediabetes, reduce the incidence of prediabetes and metabolic index control. It is an effective method to prevent the development of prediabetes into diabetic mellitus.
