Abstract 【Objective】To compare the efficacies of lung resection and pulmonary wedge resection for early nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). 【Methods】 A total of 100 hospitalized NSCLC patients were recruited for lung resection between January 2008 and July 2014. They were divided randomly into two groups of lung resection and pulmonary wedge resection (n=50 each). And two groups were compared with regards to postoperative complications, followup recurrence and death. 【Results】 The hospitalization and operative durations of pulmonary wedge resection group were shorter than those of pulmonary resection group. And the differences had statistical significance (P<0.05). Indwelling drainage tube time, bleeding amount, complications, local recurrence, distant metastasis and death showed no intergroup statistical significance (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 The efficacies of pulmonary resection and pulmonary wedge resection are similar for early NSCLC.
