Abstract [Objective]To explore the effects of long‐term antibiotics on stable bronchiectasis patients .[Methods]A total of 96 bronchiectasis patients in stable stage were divided into observation and control groups ( n =48 each) .The control group received oral ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg ,thrice daily while the observa‐tion group took roxithromycin 0 .15 g ,once daily plus oral ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg ,thrice daily .After 6‐month treatment ,two groups were compared with regards to the scores of quality of life ,dyspnea and chest computed tomography (CT) imaging .[Results]After treatment ,the observation group had lower scores than those of control group .And the differences were significant ( P<0 .05) .[Conclusion]In the treatment of sta‐ble bronchiectasis ,a combination of roxithromycin and ambroxol hydrochloride can significantly reduce the to‐tal scores of quality of life score ,dyspnea and chest CT imaging .Such a regimen is worthy of wider applica‐tions .
