Abstract [Objective]To explore the effect of overall tracking training of ultrasound doctors on the inci‐dence of birth defects in Hunan province .[Methods]Doctors who engaged in fetal ultrasound screening in Hu‐nan province received overall tracking training .The monitoring results of birth defects before and after training were analyzed retrospectively .[Results] Total number of perinatal infants in 53 monitored hospital before (2007~2010) and after training(2011~2013) showed an upward trend .The incidence of birth defects with fe‐tuses ≥28 gestational weeks before training showed an upward trend ,but showed an down trend after train‐ing .Compared with 2012 ,the incidence in 2013 was decreased by 7 .49% .[Conclusion]The overall tracking training for ultrasound doctors contributes to improve the level of ultrasound doctors'diagnosis level in primary hospital and reduce the rate of birth defects .
