Abstract Objective] To explore the turnover of impaired glucose regulation(IGR) interfered by family physician management .[Methods] Totally 1353 adult residents were randomly collected from Meilong community health service center of Minhang district in Shanghai .IGR patients were selected for evaluating clinical baseline characteristics of IGR subgroups .Homeostasis model method(HOMA) was used to assess insulin resistance index(IR) and beta cell function in‐dex .After 1 year of health education by family physicians ,the 75g glucose tolerance test(OGTT) was reexamined .[Re‐sults]Among 1353 residents ,110 patients with IGR were detected and the detection rate was 8 .13% .IGR patients were divided into impaired fasting glucose group(IFG group ,n =15) ,impaired glucose tolerance group(IGT group ,n =87) and complex impaired glucose regulation group(CGI Group ,n=8) .There was no significant difference in age ,sex ,body mass index(BMI) ,waist/hip ratio ,blood pressure and lipids among subgroups( P >0 .05) .HOMA‐IR in CGI group was the highest and HOMA‐βin IFG group was the lowest( P<0 .01) .Among 110 patients with IGR ,57 patients re‐covered normal glucose tolerance ,and 45 patients were still IGR ,and 8 patients developed to diabetes mellitus .[Conclu‐sion]IGT is the main form of IGR .Under family physician management mode ,the rates of IGR turning to normal glucose tolerance ,IGR and diabetes mellitus are 51 .81% ,40 .9% and 7 .27% ,respectively .
