Abstract To explore the relationship between ferritin and microinflammation status in the early stage of diabetic nephropathy(DN) .[Methods]Totally 120 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) in our hospital were divided into normal proteinuria group ,early DN group and clinical DN group with 40 patients in each group .Meanwhile ,40 healthy subjected were selected as the control group .Serum ferrtin and inflammatory fac-tors(hs-CRP ,TNF-αand IL-6) of 4 groups were measured .[Results] Compared with the control group ,serum ferritin and inflammatory factors were increased obviously ( P<0 .01) .With the progression of DN ,serum ferritin and inflammatory factors were increased correspondingly ,and there was significant difference between DN groups ( P <0 .05) .The elevation of serum ferritin in DN patients was positively related with inflammatory factors ( r >0 .1 ,P<0 .01) .[Conclusion]The overload of iron or over high ferritin may participate in body microinflammation status of patients with early DN and induce the elevation of body inflammatory factors ,and thus participate in the genesis and development of DN .
