Abstract [Obj ective]To analyze the incidence of the complications and mortality rate of twin premature infants with different gestational age and birth weight.[Methods]According to gestational age,224 twin premature infants hos-pitalized in neonate department of our hospital from July 2010 to July 2012 were divided into less than 32-week group,32~34-week group and 34~37 week group.According to birth weight, all patients were divided into less than 1500g group,1500-2500g group and more than 2500g group. The incidence of complications and mortality rate were compared among different groups.[Results]There were significant differences in the incidence of anemia, respiratory failure,reti-nopathy of prematurity(ROP),neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS)and bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)a-mong twin premature infant groups with different gestational age and birth weight(P<0.05),and the smaller the gesta-tion age and the lighter birth weight, the higher the incidence rate. There was significant difference in the incidence of hy-poglycemia among twin premature infant groups with different gestation age and birth weight(P<0.05),and the lighter birth weight, the higher the incidence rate. There was significant difference in the incidence of apnea among twin prema-ture infant groups with different gestation age and birth weight(P<0.05).Among 224 patients,15 patients died and the mortality rate was 6 .7%.The smaller gestation age and the lighter birth weight, the higher the mortality rate, and there was significant difference among groups(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Health service for pregnant women of twin pre-mature infants should be strengthened in order to decrease the occurrence of premature and low birth weight infants. The prevention and treatment of common complications of twin premature infants should be strengthened so as to decrease the mortality rate.
