Abstract [Obj ective]To explore the value of Doppler ultrasound in the evaluation of kidney structure and hemodynamics in elderly people.[Methods]Totally 85 elderly patients with chronic kidney disease(observa-tion group)and 85 subjects with normal kidney function(control group)were randomly chosen. The size, shape and structure of two kidneys, renal parenchyma thickness and echo in two groups were observed and compared.Color flow mapping was used to measure renal interlobar artery peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV),mean blood flow velocity(Vm),resistance index(RI),pulsatility index(PI)and oth-er renal interlobar artery hemodynamic parameters.[Results]Renal long and short diameters in observation group were (72.1±8.1)mm and (33.5 ± 2.8)mm respectively, which were far shorter than those in control group.Compared with control group, renal parenchyma in observation group was thickened obviously and the echo was strengthened markedly, and there was significant difference(P<0.05).The PSV,EDV and Vm in observation group were (22.56±4.58 )mL/s,(6.78±1.59)mL/s and (14.70±3.05)mL/s respectively which were markedly lower than those in control group(P<0.05),while RI and PI in observation group were (0.69±0.28)and (1.07±0.65)respectively which were markedly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Color Doppler ultrasound in the measurement of renal structure and hemodynamics chan-ges in elderly people is of great clinical value.
