Abstract [Objective]To observe clinical efficacy of immediate post-abortion insertion with Mirena.[Meth-ods]Totally 1 1 2 women with reproductive age undergoing artificial abortion in maternal and child health hospital of Hunan province from Jan.2010 to Dec.2012 were randomly divided into control group and observation group with 5 6 cases in each group.The control group received immediate post-abortion insertion with T-intrauterine device, while the observation group received immediate post-abortion with Mirena .All patients were followed up after 3 months for 1 year.Clinical efficacy and adverse reaction in two groups were observed.[Results]The pregnancy rate with IUD in situ,expulsion rate and removal rate due to symptoms in observation group were lower than those in control group,and there was significant difference(P<0.05).Compared with control group,the incidence rate of adverse reactions,especially the incidence rate of menorrhagia increased(P <0.01).[Conclusion]Compared with traditional T-intrauterine device,Mirena ring is more effective,safe and reliable methods of intrauterine con-traception,and has little adverse reactions.Therefore,it is especially suitable for patients with menorrhagia.
