Abstract [Objective]To explore clinical significance of strong ion gap(SIG)in patients with acute myocardial in-farction(AMI).[Methods]Stewart-Figge methodology was used to calculate, compare and analyze the results of blood gas analysis of 83 patients with AMI in our hospital from March 2010 to Sept.2012.[Results]The indexes such as SIG, AG and potential HCO3- in effective treatment group were obviously lower than those in ineffective treatment group, and there was significant difference(P<0.05)Among the indexes, the change of SIG was the biggest, and that of AG was the second, and that of potential HCO3- was the smallest[Conclusion]In AMI patients,SIG can better reflect acid-base balance of AMI patients than AG and potential HCO3-,and has important clinical value in the detection of illness state and the assessment of short-time prognosis.
