Abstract [Objective]To explore the expression of mTOR/p70S6K signaling pathway in gradeⅡ-Ⅲ glio-mas and its correlation with the prognosis of patients with gliomas.[Methods]Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of mTOR and p70S6K in 148 patients with gliomas. The correlation between them was analyzed. The relationship of the expression of mTOR and p70S6K with progression-free survival (PFS)and overall survival(OS)was analyzed by using Kaplan-Meier method.Cox regression model was used to analyze the correlation between all clinical factors and prognosis.[Results]There was significant difference between the expression of mTOR and p70S6K between grade Ⅱ and Ⅲ gliomas(P<0.05).There was posi-tive correlation between mTOR and p70S6K expression(r=0.596,P <0.01).Cox regression analysis re-vealed that p70S6K was an independent prognostic factor of gliomas patients. The survival time of patients with high expression of p70S6K was shorter than that of patients with low expression of p70S6K(hazard ratio=3.606;95% confidence interval=1.066~12.201;P=0.039).The expression of mTOR was not associat-ed with the prognosis.[Conclusion]The expression of p70S6K is of clinical significance in predicting the prog-nosis of patients with gliomas and may be the potential target for gene therapy of glioma.
