Abstract [Objective] To explore the efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA) for the treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fracture .[Methods]Totally 54 patients with intertrochanteric femoral fracture were treated with PFNA from Jan .2008 to Jan .2012 .All patients were followed up after operation .The efficacy was evaluated .[Results] All the patients were followed up after operation .The follow up time was for 10~37 months with 13 .8 months in average .The fractures of patients were all healed .According to Harris score standard ,28 patients were excellent ,and 21 patients were good ,and 5 patients were fair .The good and excellent rate was 90 .7% .[Conclusion] PFNA is simple operation ,minimal trauma ,stable fixation and little impact on blood sup-ply ,so it is good treatment of intertrochanteric femoral fracture .
