Abstract [Objective] To observe the application effect of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in the dermato-plasty for large area of cutaneous defect during the operation .[Methods] Totally 45 patients with large area of cutaneous defect received VSD to cultivate the granulation before dermatoplasty for 7~14d ,and then continu-ously received VSD for 7~10d after dermatoplasty (VSD group) .Another 42 patients with cutaneous defect were given traditional dressing change ,simple skin grafting and conventional package and compression (tradi-tional group) . The survival rate of the grafted skin and hospitalization time were compared between two groups .[Results]In VSD group ,the successful rate of dermatoplasty was 88 .89% ,and the infection rate was 2 .22% ,and the hospitalization time was (30 .4 ± 3 .8)d .In traditional group ,the successful rate of dermato-plasty was 66 .67% ,and the infection rate was 19 .05% ,and the hospitalization time was (52 .8 ± 7 .2)d . There was significant difference in the successful rate of dermatoplasty between two groups (χ2 =4 .94 ,P <0 .05) .There was also significant difference in hospitalization time between two groups ( t=2 .45 ,P<0 .05) .[Conclusion] VSD applied in the dermatoplasty for repairing large area of skin defect wound during the opera-tion can promote the wound healing ,increase the successful rate ,reduce the infection rate and shorten the treatment duration .
