Abstract [Objective] To explore the effectiveness and safety of Qiliqiangxin capsule in the treatment of chronic contractive heart failure .[Methods]A total of 73 patients with chronic contractive heart failure were randomly divided into group A(Qiliqiangxin capsule observation group ,n =37) and group B(digoxin control group ,n=36) .The efficacy ,cardiac function and echocardiogram (ECG) parameters after 12 weeks were ob-served .The safety was evaluated .[Results]The total effective rate in group A and group B was 94 .59% and 75% respectively ,and that in group A was better than that in group B ( P < 0 .05) .Compared with before treatment ,SV ,CO ,LVEF and LVD in two groups after treatment were improved ( P<0 .01) .The improve-ment of LVEF and LVD in group A was better than that in group B ( P<0 .01) .[Conclusion]Qiliqiangxin cap-sule is effective and safe in the treatment of chronic contractive heart failure .
