Abstract [Objective]To observe the effectiveness and safety of intravenous penehyclidine hydrochloride on eliminating propofol injection pain during anesthesia induction .[Methods]A total of 40 ASA Ⅰ ~ Ⅱ pa-tients scheduled for elective operation of otolaryngology under general anesthesia were randomly divided into group W(penehyclidine hydrochloride group) and group C (control group) with 20 patients in each group . Group C was given intravenous normal saline 0 .9% before anesthesia induction ,while group W was given in-travenous penehyclidine hydrochloride 0 .01mg/kg(diluted with 0 .9% normal saline into 10mL) and then intra-venous propofol 20mg/kg after 20min for 30s .Verbal rating scale(VRS) was used to evaluate and compared the propofol injection pain of patients .Blood pressure and heart rate of patients at entering the operation (T1 ) , 5min(T2 ) ,10min(T3 ) ,15min(T4 ) and 20min(T5 ) after the injection of penehyclidine hydrochloride or nor-mal saline were recorded .[Results]The pain score of patients in group W was obviously lower than that in group C(0 .9 ± 0 .7 vs .1 .7 ± 0 .9 ,P =0 .04) .The incidence of injection pain in group W was also lower than that in group C ,and there was significant difference between two groups (40% vs .90% ,P <0 .05) ,There was no significant difference in blood pressure and heart rate between two groups ( P > 0 .05) .[Conclusion]Penehyclidine hydrochloride can effectively alleviate propofol injection pain during anesthesia induction .
