Abstract [Objective]To explore the expression of tumor type M2-pyruvate kinase(Tu M2-PK) in bladder cancer and its clinical significance .[Methods] Serum samples of 221 patients with bladder cancer and 220 healthy normal people from Jan .2009 to Jan .2012 were collected .Serum level of Tu M2-PK was detected by ELISA ,and compared between experimental group and control group .The correlation between Tu M2-PK and pathological type was analyzed .[Results]Serum levels of Tu M2-PK in patients with bladder cancer were ob-viously higher than those in control group[(39 .4 ± 3 .5)u/mL vs (7 .3 ± 2 .1)u/mL ,P <0 .05)] .There was significant difference in Tu M2-PK level among different pathological stages of bladder cancer .Tu M2-PK lev-els in stage T1 ,T2 and T3 were (32 .1 ± 6 .1)u/mL ,(34 .1 ± 4 .3)u/mL and (68 .2 ± 5 .9)u/mL ,respectively . There was no significant difference in Tu M2-PK level between stage T1 and stage T2 .Compared with stage T1 and T2 ,Tu M2-PK levels in stage T3 were increased obviously .[Conclusion] The monitoring of serum Tu M2-PK is helpful for the early diagnosis of bladder cancer .Meanwhile Tu M2-PK level can be also used as an important means for the monitoring and grading of the tumor .
