Abstract [Objective] To explore changes and clinical significance of leukotriene E 4(LTE4) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) in seasonal allergic rhinitis(SAR) .[Methods] Totally 40 patients who met the SAR diagnosis standard were regarded as observation group ,while 40 healthy people were regarded as control group .Serum levels of LTE4 and TNF-αin each season were detected .[Results]Compared with control group ,serum levels of LTE4 and TNF-αof observation group in spring and winter were increased significantly (LTE4:P <0 .05 in spring and P <0 .01 in winter)(TNF-α:all P <0 .01 in spring and winter) .There was no significant difference in serum levels of LTE4 and TNF-αin summer and autumn between two groups ( P>0 .05) .Serum LTE4 had no obvious correlation with TNF-α.[Conclusion] Serum levels of LTE4 and TNF-α play an important role in the pathogenesis of SAR through local inflammatory response .They are of great reference value in clinical prevention and treatment .
