Abstract [Objective]To observe the application of cervical plexus block combined with general anesthesia in carotid endarterectomy .[Methods] According to anesthesia method ,40 patients undergoing carotid endar-terectomy in our hospital from Jan .2012 to Aug .2013 were randomly divided into control group(G group ,n=20) undergoing general anesthesia group and observation group (GL group ,n = 20) undergoing cervical plexus block combined with general anesthesia .Hemodynamics ,awakening time and the dose of analgesics in two groups were observed and analyzed .Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) was used to observe cognitive function 1d before and 1d ,3d and 6d after operation .[Results] The fluctuation of hemodynamics in GL group at each time point was obviously lower than that in G group ( P<0 .05) ,and the dose of intraoperative vasoac-tive agents was also lower than that in G group( P<0 .05) .The awakening time and the dose of analgesics in G group were markedly more than those in GL group( P<0 .05) .Compared with baseline value before opera-tion ,MMSE score at 1d after operation in two groups was obviously decreased( P<0 .05) ,and MMSE score in G group was lower than that in GL group ,and there was significant difference( P <0 .05) .There was no significant difference between MMSE score in two groups at 3d and 6d after operation and preoperative baseline vale( P > 0 .05) .[Conclusion] Patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy under cervical plexus block com-bined with general anesthesia have stable hemodynamics , short awakening time , little dose of analgesics group ,small impact on neurological function after operation and satisfactory efficacy ,and can obviously im-prove the safety and quality of anesthesia .
